Family - Wimborne Food Festival

Wimborne Food Festival

Tim and I went over to my mums in Wimborne as Jon and Izzy were there and the food festival was on.  When we arrived mum and Izzy had already gone out to some of the children's activities.  Jon, Tim and I went to have a look round the festival and sample the food on offer!!  Tim managed to find some ginger cheese and a strong stinky cheddar - which is now in a bag and a box in the fridge to stop the smell spreading!  later on mum and Izzy met us to go on the carousel and play with the circus tricks.

After lunch Izzy got ready for her party - she went as a witch complete with her broomstick!

Caving - Lionel's Hole

Caving - Lionel's Hole

Group of 3 - Tim, me and Matt

We went into Lionel's with the aim of finding our way through the figure of 8 round trip.  We have previously found our way through the first loop but had not yet ventured down the second one.  We made our way through the entrance, over the traverse and dropped down to find the wet way.  We went through the first 'duck' - more like a puddle with a stupid squeeze at the end.  There was a bypass for the next duck - it was a horrible narrow ascending passage.  At the end of the passage it opened out a bit with a couple of ways on.  After a long time searching we still couldn't find the continuation of the round trip!  We were starting to get tight for time so we decided the best course of action was to had back the way we came as we knew the way!!  A good trip - if a little frustrating!!

Clapper Chaos - Refurbished Bells

Clapper Chaos
Refurbished Bells

Tim's handbells have been having a refurbish.  I received a phone call in the week to say that they were done and ready for collection.  This morning we made a trip to Okehampton to pick them up.

When we arrived the bells were out so we could have a try.  We had taken some of our music along with us so Ian and Christine could join us.  They look and sound amazing.

Caving - Mangle Hole

Caving - Mangle Hole

Group of 5 - Tim, Me, Paul Sheffield, Steve Dickinson and Mike Gormley

We arrived at the Ski centre, kitted up and walked to the entrance of Sandford Levvy.  A quick walk to the end and back out only takes about 10 mins but worth a quick look in!!  We made our way further on and looked for the entrance to Mangle Hole.  Tim rigged the two pitches and we abseiled down.  We then made our way through the boulders down to Aldermarston Chamber.  An excellent trip and Paul thoroughly christened his new suit!!

We have had a great holiday and it was a shame for it to end.  We were going past Worcester on the way home so we gave Paul a lift.  We arrived in Worcester at dinner time - Paul very conveniently lives near a Toby Carvery!!!  We then went to the ringing practice at the cathedral.

We left Worcester around 21:30 and got back home about midnight.  Nice to finally be home.
