Day Out - Glastonbury Carnival
Glastonbury Carnival
After our caving trip Paul went on home while Tim, Matt and I headed off to Street to get some dinner and to meet up with Tim's family for the carnival at Glastonbury. It was a good evening, below are a selection of the photos I took.
Caving - Welsh's Green Swallet
Caving - Welsh's Green Swallet
Group of 4 - Tim, me, Paul and Matt
We went into Welsh's Green Swallet. Once we found the entrance we rigged the pitch and abseiled into the cave. After the entrance section we arrived into a small chamber with enough room for us to reorganise ourselves into a suitable order for rigging the next pitch. The next section was a low hands and knees crawl in a streamway till we reached the ledge at the pitch head. The stream tumbled straight over so we were going to get wet on our way down!! Tim rigged the pitch and we abseiled down. The next section was more crawling! Still in the stream but now with a lot of glacial silt - otherwise known as mud! We found our way to the first aven chamber, it was nice relief to stand up for a bit. After attempting some photos we rejoined the streamway and continued to crawl. The rest of the trip was crawling in water and sloppy mud. Tim and Matt went on a bit further and found the second aven chamber. A nice trip, I would go back but not in a hurry!!!
Unfortunately none of the photos came out!!

Rex Players - Show Rehearsal
Rex Players - Show Rehearsal
Tonight was the first rehearsal for the 2013 show. We worked through the songs for the opening and closing numbers. A good start made to the main tune line and some of the harmony.
We have had a few new members join so I wanted to update the members photos for the Rex Players website. Some existing members had also asked if they could have a more up to date photo taken.
