New Job First Month

I have now worked in my new job for a month.  I am doing visits on my own and I have begun to find my place in the scheme of things.  I have spent some of the time in the afternoons doing archiving and organising in the office!!  I have sorted out all the storage areas - getting rid of everything that was out of date!! Much was and by quite some years!!  It has helped me to know what is stocked and where it is kept.  I am still really pleased with my decision to have a change.

I have been on a baking mission this evening.  It is my birthday tomorrow and I have a show rehearsal to go to.  I thought I would bake some fairy cakes to take along with me!!

Today I went and had a look at a Clarinet in A.  It was in great condition and a brilliant price!!  I look forward to playing it in orchestra on Monday.

Work - New Job Week 3

New Job Week 3

Another good week.  I have done lots of visits - a couple on my own.  I spent a day at the Wareham surgery to meet the team and see how they work.  Unfortunately I heard this week that 2 of the study days I was going to do have been cancelled - Hopefully I will be booked on another one soon.  I am beginning to know my way around the area a bit better and it is looking more familiar when I have been on return visits.

This week I have done a mixture of visits with the nurses, Observing surgery clinics and getting to grips with the admin tasks I need to do!!  A very enjoyable week - Feel like I am starting to get to grips with how things work in the community and I feel a more useful part of the team!!

New Job Day Five

Today I spent the day with Lucy.  We visited a few patients in the morning - two of which were out when we called!  Over lunch time there was a dementia teaching session by one the Dementia Fellow from Bournemouth.  This afternoon we went back to visit a lady who had been out when we called in the morning.  I really enjoyed today - more interesting to do more visits.

Well I have finished my first week and have my first proper weekend off with Tim.  I feel I have made the right decision.  There will be a lot of new experiences for me and the right time for a new challenge!  Hopefully my uniforms will arrive soon!
