New Job Day Four

Today I had a fire/health and safety briefing from the practice managers secretary.  I then met with one of the nurses and we went out to do some visits from the other surgery they cover.  I was introduced to the staff at that surgery (more names I know I am going to struggle to remember!!).  We did a couple of dressings and then returned for handover.  In the afternoon we went back to the other surgery for one more visit before I went home.  Another good day - it was nice to go out and watch what goes on, won't be long before I have to just get on with it!!

Today was my first day at the surgery 8:30 - 15:00.  I was introduced to everyone and shown around.  Everyone is very friendly and willing to help.  The team I am working with are a nice group of people.  I don't think I will remember everyone's names by tomorrow!!  I spent the morning with the Sister being acquainted with what goes on and then we did a visit to a gentleman who needed an INR doing.  The surgery has one the amazing quick handheld INR machines,  you get the result in seconds!!  I think emergency admissions where I worked before could do with one! At 12:30 the team get together and report to each other what happened at their visits and any follow up that is needed.  I then helped in the office for an hour before it was home time.  A great first day with my head full of information!!  Looking forward to tomorrow.

Today was day 2 of my induction.  It was a more active day with less power point presentations!!

Work - Last Day on Ansty

Last Day on Ansty

Today was my last shift on Ansty.  It was a good day to end on, not too busy with enough time to catch up with people.  I was given a card with lovely messages inside and an amazing voucher for Go Outdoors :o)  I will look forward to spending that!  After the shift I met with quite a few people at the Shar of Persia Pub. I was touched by everyone's comments and will miss being on Ansty.  I look forward to starting my new venture on Monday!!

Our practices have been a bit difficult since I have had a bad hand.  I mostly ring 5 in hand so there are a lot of bells spare at the moment.  Tim had a go and seemed to be doing well.  Sarah also had a go and is steadily getting the hang of it!!
