North Wales Holiday 2012
Day 4 –
19.06.12
Quite a
slow morning today – think yesterday was quite tiring. We looked at the weather forecast and decided
our plans for climbing Snowdon Thursday were looking slightly iffy as rain was
due! We thought we had better get a move
on as it was looking better for today.
We set off to Betws – Y – Goed for some lunch and post cards, we also
wanted more information about going up Snowdon.
By now it was about 12:30 and we thought it was now pushing it a bit to
go on foot if we were planning to go ringing tonight. We decided that we would go to Llanberis and
see if we could get the train up instead.
The next available one was at 17:00 so that was not going to be
possible. We went across the road to
have a look at the electric mountain to see if we could join a visit in there –
once again – the next available one was at 16:00!!

Feeling a bit fed up at our lack of success
we decided to drive around the bottom of Snowdon instead taking photos of
various views of the summit. It was a
nice scenic drive but just a shame we didn’t manage to get the views from the
top!! If the weather improves for
Thursday we may see if we can have another try!

We next
headed for Swallow Falls – Four waterfalls with a well maintained path and
viewing platforms.

By now we
were getting hungry so made our way to a pub in Bodelwyddan where that evening we were
planning to join the local church’s ringing practice.

The ringers
were all very friendly and welcoming.
They were a band that mainly seemed to ring round and call changes and
occasionally a bit of plain bob.
