Holiday - Yorkshire/Shropshire - Day One

Yorkshire/Shropshire Holiday

Day One

Finally we are on much needed holiday!  We had managed to pack a few bits over the last few days.  I had sorted most of my clothes beforehand and only had the last few bits to add that I had washed ready.  Tim got out all the caving stuff while I packed some food and kitchen items.  We had been intending on leaving around 10.00 but in our usual style we were finally on our way around 11.30!  The journey was going well in our direction, there was an accident on the opposite side of the M27 which was causing horrific congestion.  We got to Chievley services and stopped for a pasty for lunch.  The rest of the journey continued to be good and we made it to Cawthorne at about 16.30.  We were greeted at the door by Jen and Matilda.  Susannah and Matilda were over waiting for Jason to come back from doing the shopping.  It was nice to see them and catch up.  After they had gone we sat in the front room with a drink and had some nibbles while dinner was cooking.  Jen had made a lovely cottage pie and a greengage crumble for pudding.  Looking forward to going to Hidden Earth tomorrow to see what it is all about.
